Novec and FM 200 gas extinguishing

The extinguishing system consists of a specially designed installation including piping, nozzles and valves, individually selected for each protected room and space.

Use of agent-based fire extinguishing systems NOVEC or FM 200 extinguishing agent reduces these risks as far as possible, resulting in significant savings in the event of a fire, compared to other extinguishing agents.

Extinguishing mechanism

NOVEC and FM 200 are active extinguishing agents that cause very rapid extinguishing of flames through a combination of physical and chemical mechanisms. The physical factor of flame levelling is realised through heat absorption, which results in a decrease of the flame temperature and thus degrades the chain reaction occurring in the flame. NOVEC (FK-5-1-12) and FM 200 (HFC-227ea) also have a chemical effect by interrupting the chain reaction responsible for the spread of the fire.

Operating description of the gas extinguishing systems with NOVEC and FM 200 extinguishing agents

Extinguishing action of NOVEC and FM 200 is based on absorbing the heat of the flame - their action is mainly physical and to a lesser extent chemical.

Both FM 200 gasi pożary grupy:

A – solids of organic origin, which burn alongside other phenomena, such as glowing (e.g. wood, paper, coal, plastics, etc.)

B - flammable liquids and solids which melt as a result of the heat generated in a fire (e.g. petrol, paraffin, paraffin, pitch, naphthalene, tar, etc.).

E – live electrical equipment (older designation)

Extinguishing control systems

For the control of fixed firefighting systems using gases as extinguishing agents FM 200, NOVEC or IG inert gases as extinguishing agents, we use control panels dedicated to this type of installation. The extinguishing control system, in addition to the control panel, includes sensors located in all extinguishing spaces, buttons for starting and stopping extinguishing, as well as warning lights. The control panel also monitors the pressure and flow of gas from the cylinder and controls the pressure relief valve.
